Experience 33rd Shrawani Seva Shivir by Marwari Yuva Manch, Deoghar

We started Shrawani Seva Shivir from 1990s providing facilities and amenities including hospitality and medical assistance to the pilgrims who visit Baba Baidyanath temple for worshipping during Shravani Mela, biggest festival of Deoghar attracting lakhs of devotees from all around the nation. The camp grew and cemented itself as the standard in providing all necessary and proper services to pilgrims walking barefoot from Sultanganj to Deoghar. We continue to serve on that legacy and strive for excellence in social services we do.

About the camp

Among the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Mahadev, the famous Kamna Jyotirlinga "Shri Baidyanath" is worshiped by millions of devotees. There has been an age-old tradition of offering kanwar to Lord Shiva Jyortirlinga, in the month of Shravani..This temple is also famous as "Hridaypeeth" out of 51 Shaktipeeths. In the world famous Shrawani fair, which gives the great message of social harmony and spirituality, Kanwarias walk 105 kms barefooted after filling holy water from the Ganga river of Ajgavinath (Sultanganj) while chanting the slogan of Bol-Bam in full spirit. They come to Baidyanathdham (Deoghar) and offer holy water to Kamna Jyotirlinga.

Marwari Yuva Manch, Deoghar branch has been organizing free Kanwariya Seva Shivir for more then 30 years in Khijuriya village situated on the route of this difficult Kanwar Yatra. In the shivir, facilities like morning seva, free resting place, free meals, fruits, lemon tea, lemon shikanji, first aid, accupressure, information broadcast for the lost Kanwaria are also made available to the kanwarias.
